NOT A GOOD NIGHT

When Marvin went to lock the chickens up last night, two of the chicklets were missing. They were there at 6 last night. The two missing ones are the 2 little brown ones.

Have they been found yet?

Is that field fence shown in the picture all they have? Do they free-range? We've had really good luck with using electric fence around our poultry yards, but if you're having predator problems during the day, that's a whole other story. I'm sorry for your loss. I hope the missing birds show up. On nights that we were too slow to get out and lock them up, we used to have a couple of young pullets who would roost in a nearby bush. More recently, one of the 4-week-old pullets would NOT come in, so we had to leave her out all night. She was fine, but she came in the next night!

Hi Belinda
That picture was taken when we first got them. Just an area to keep them from the larger hens. They are all together now and have free range with lots of fencing. You were right they were up a tree just like your pullets. We lock them up at night because of racoons but that night he was late doing the lockup, a lesson learned.
